ESUSD Earns Impressive Rankings on Niche.com 2020-21 Best School District List

The El Segundo Unified School District has earned notable rankings in several categories on Niche.com, a site which compares and ranks more than 11,000 school districts across the United States based on rigorous analysis of data, and reviews by parents, students, teachers, and communities.

The influential school and neighborhood review website recently released its 2021 Best School Districts lists. Segmented into national, state, and local rankings, ESUSD holds notable spots at each level. Compared to last year’s rankings, ESUSD’s already impressive rankings have increased in the majority of categories.

El Segundo Unified School District’s notable Niche.com distinctions:

  • Overall Niche Grade of A+

  • Top 3% Best School Districts in America and top 7% in California

  • Top 2% Best School Districts to Teach in America and top 3% in California

  • Top 4% Safest School Districts in America, top 2% in California, top 4% in Los Angeles area

ESUSD schools have individually secured impressive Niche.com rankings (overall A+ or A for each school site). El Segundo High School ranks in the top 3% of Best Public High Schools in America out of the nearly 20,000 high schools rated across the U.S. El Segundo High School ranks in the top 5% of the Best Public High Schools in California. The high school also ranked in the top 6% for Best High Schools for Athletes in California.

El Segundo Middle School ranks in the top 9% of the Best Public Middle Schools in California. And Center Street School and Richmond Street School rank in the top 2% and 3%, respectively, of the Best Public Elementary Schools in California. 

According to Niche, it arrives at its rankings after a rigorous analysis of key statistics and data from thousands of schools and includes information from the U.S. Department of Education and millions of reviews from students and parents. Ranking factors also include state test scores, student-teacher ratio, student diversity, teacher quality, grade school ratings, and the overall quality of the school district.
